Project Description
Design a mobile application and wearable component, incorporating haptics. Project must include navigation, safety or ARVR concepts.
DESIGN PROCESS
Sketching
I started my process in my sketchbook, of course! I noted a few ideas for each of the categories – navigation, safety and ARVR.
Concepts in each of the three categories - navigation, safety, ARVR
Paper airplane notes in ARVR for community building and global socialization
A few months ago, I was taking a design entrepreneurship course, where I was developing this business concept with a partner. We called it Sparrow. We worked and iterated through the business plan of this exact idea - a paper airplane sending application, but did not get to fully explore the human experience of this product.
Sparrow, the paper airplane sending application, will have two primary flows:
2. Receiving paper airplane notes
In this assignment, I flesh out an interactive experience for this product - which is currently just a business concept. Within the paper airplane sending and receiving experience, I will include haptics that enhance specifically those experiences – sending and receiving.
For a wearable element, I am thinking a bracelet or a ring would provide additional haptic experience.
User Flows and Wireframes
Ideation on Paper
Here are some initial sketches of user flows, haptic experiences, and a storyboard. I think this idea is very simple (essentially a messaging platform, without direct contacts), so I wanted to focus on the paper airplane note crafting experience, as well as the AR view of the world of paper planes.
With a preliminary user flow, I started wire framing a mobile experience.
